Off the Top of My Head
It was probably a bad idea to randomly go out to The Melting Pot last Thursday. We really couldn’t afford it. But we had a good reason to celebrate: Erica’s clear scans. So we went! It was delicious. They had a Thursdate deal where there was a set menu and they scattered rose pedals all around. Erica wasn’t originally going to tell them the reason for our celebration, but I nudged her when they asked. They congratulated her and, at the end, they gave her a free slice of cake with the words “Congratulations on being cancer free!” written on the plate with frosting. It was so sweet we both cried a little. But that wasn’t the end of it. When we were done, our waiter came up to us and said “There will be no check because the table over there has decided to pay for you.” WHAT!? I’ve never had that done for me before. It was staggering. I could not believe it. I must have thanked that other table a million times. It was probably the most special thing that has come out of this. Whole ordeal. Thank you again to that kind group of people who dropped an insane amount of money on strangers just because they heard we had beat cancer. Sometimes people are good.

The Business Section
Business is going smoothly in some areas and really rocky in others. Two of my clients are pretty much on auto-drive, but for one of them it seems like nothing I do is right. If it weren’t for the fact that we needed the money I would honestly just drop them. We’re not a good fit. They’re looking for instant business, and I’m looking for followers and engagement. The whole thing is starting to wear on me and I am, admittedly, still looking for other avenues of employment. Unfortunately, I’m not really good at anything else except voiceover and I definitely don’t have the portfolio for voiceover yet. Although… I do have some reels…
